Extreme Cold Alert

With the nighttime temperature dropping into the twenties and below, we are concerned about the welfare of animals placed in our overnight drop boxes. If the temperature is predicted to fall below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, the drop boxes will be locked and unavailable. If possible, we'd like to ask you to hold onto the animal until morning and bring it into the shelter after we open. If it's not possible to hold the animal, please call the Sheriff's Office dispatch at 801-743-7045 for instructions. 

'The Pit Stop' Retail Store Now Open!

On your next visit to our shelter, please stop by our new store, 'The Pit Stop' and pick up a little something for your furry friends! We carry a number of basic items including collars, leashes, litter, and to really impress your pet - great toys. All of our prices are even dollar amounts with the tax already figured in, so it's easy to shop. All proceeds help the shelter, so you can get something nice for your pet and help save other animals at the same time. We hope to see you there!

On-Site Vaccinations Now Available

To aid in the fight against animal disease, Salt Lake County Animal Services is now offering on-site walk-in vaccinations without an appointment. Check out our pricing schedule to see what vaccinations you can get your cat or dog on your next visit! (No appointment necessary) 

New Website Design and Online Licensing Coming Soon!

After months of hard work and planning, Salt Lake County Animal Services is close to unveiling our new website design. This redesign will include more areas for expansion and, most importantly, will include the ability to license your pets online! Please be patient with us as we roll out our new site and continue to license your pets over the phone, through the mail, or in person until we get all the bugs worked out.
